Forging your own ring is much more than just a manual process. It is a journey of discovery into the world of goldsmithing. When forging rings yourself, you can bring your own creativity to bear and create your own personal piece of jewellery. Every hammer blow, every shape and every detail reflects you and your story.

We will enthusiastically guide you through the process of making your own ring - from the initial idea to the finished piece of jewellery. The result is not only an expression of precision craftsmanship, but also a memento that bears your individual signature. It is possible to recycle existing old gold or use upcycled materials to conserve resources and give your ring a special personal touch.

Ring forging courses: Wedding rings & more

In our ring forging courses, you will become a ring forger yourself. From melting the precious metal to moulding, soldering and final polishing, we will guide you through the entire process.

In the workshops, we also cater to your culinary wishes, here you can choose between vegetarian, vegan or everything when booking. Drinks, coffee and various teas are provided. We look forward to seeing you and you will be well looked after.

All workshops take place as individual courses. This means that you can take part either alone, as a couple or with up to three people and experience the special atmosphere of our workshop, between old crafts and modern techniques. If you are interested in a group course, dates with up to six participants are also possible by arrangement. Simply send us an enquiry.

Our workshops take place from Monday to Sunday and are planned individually by appointment. This gives you the flexibility to choose the right time for your personal forging experience.

Forging your own ring - procedure

We focus on fun and the joy of craftsmanship. In a relaxed atmosphere, you will experience how a personalised ring is created from a piece of precious metal. Our ring forging courses are designed so that you can work without any previous knowledge and experience the entire creation process - from melting the metal and alloying to the finished jewellery.

Before we get to work, we discuss your ideas together. This involves the choice of material, shape, surface design, engravings or the integration of diamonds. Everything can be customised. The result is a design that suits you perfectly.

The craftsmanship then begins: the precious metal is melted, forged and polished until it takes its final shape. Our experienced goldsmiths will guide you with advice, technique and plenty of experience to ensure that your ring is precisely crafted and finished to a high standard.

The workshop usually lasts around five hours. You can usually take your own forged ring home with you straight after the forging course - a result of genuine craftsmanship that is a lasting memory of a special experience.

Unique alloys and memorabilia

Together with you, we melt the alloys - the different compositions of the precious metals that determine colour, purity and properties - so that you get a precise insight into which metals are contained in your ring and how your individual alloy is created.

As we work together from the liquid precious metal to the finished ring, you are also welcome to have memorabilia from different pieces of jewellery melted down. This creates a unique, unrepeatable precious metal composition - your personalised alloy. This makes your ring absolutely unique, not only visually but also emotionally.

What makes selfforging so special?

When you forge a ring yourself, you are actively involved in its creation. Your ring becomes a unique memento. Every shape and every hammer blow reflects your personal signature. For couples, the person giving the ring can also be directly involved in the process.

Will our homemade rings look beautiful?

Naturally. With us, every ring becomes a memento that bears your individual signature. We take the time to listen carefully to your wishes and forge until we are happy with the result together.

How much does it cost to forge a ring yourself?

This depends on the dimensions, material and choice of engraving or gemstones. The course fee forms the basis. Standard engravings are included; for special laser engravings or additional stones, we work with external service providers. We will inform you of the costs incurred after consultation.

How is a ring forged?

The precious metal is melted, alloyed and moulded. The blank is then forged, filed and polished. If desired, old family jewellery can also be incorporated, creating a unique alloy. This makes your ring a very special memento.

Is a consultation required in advance for the ring forging course?

We can clarify many questions over the phone or by e-mail. If you would like to try on rings, see different precious metals or bring old gold with you, we recommend a personal consultation in the workshop. If you already have precise ideas, you can book the course directly and clarify any open questions before the course begins.

Do I need prior knowledge for a course?

No, we are there to advise and support you throughout the entire process.

How many people take part in a course?

Our workshops take place as individual or couples courses. Courses with up to three participants are also possible. For group courses (max. 6 people) please contact us in advance.

How long does it take to forge a ring?

The working process from molten metal to the finished ring takes half a day, i.e. approx. 4-6 hours. You can take your finished ring with you on the same day. If other service providers are involved (e.g. for stone setting or laser engraving), the completion process will take correspondingly longer.

Where does the precious metal come from?

We use metal from refineries that is traceable and does not contain mining material. Customers can also bring in old jewellery. Together we will check how the metal can be reused. Old gold that is not directly used is credited to the new rings at the current purchase price.
